Is there a web site that I can just put “I live here and would like to travel on these and these dates and i don’t care where i go, just find me the cheapest ticket.” Seems like all web sites you have to enter in a destination…

There is! A really good one, too: http://www.farecompare.com — click on their “Dream Trips” type in your city and click “change.” It will show you all of the cheapest published airfares to locations in your country and around the world. It even helps you with booking if you click on the fare–calendars open up with available dates at that fare.

I’m a Peruvian who would like to travel to the U-S, and its very difficult to get a tourist visa. Can anyone offer any helpful hints?

Question by Jon: Feature request: Can we filter out questions from low-level askers?
It would be nice to say “I only want to view questions asked by people who are at least level 2″ or something. Does this sound like a good idea to anyone?
I’m mainly asking for these two reasons:
1) In many categories, the same question is asked every single day (for instance, in Travel -> Air Travel, “what is a good website to find cheap tickets?”)
2) In at least one category that I frequent (Computers -> Programming & Design), probably only 20% of the questions asked actually belong there.
Obviously my suggestion won’t completely fix these problems, but I think it may help.

I very much agree, I also find the same questions asked over and over again. Sadly many of these questions could be avoided if the asker were willing to check if a similar question had already been posted.
